Our Children’s Home’s has 250 and 95 children from all schoolgoing ages. Jacaranda Children’s Home has a house with pre-school children as well. We try to keep all the children in optimum health to insure their development to their full potential. The Clinic gives feedback to the Social Workers and The Department of Social Development regarding the development of every child, as well as the health inputs which each child has received.
We give regular health education to the children as well as to the Houseparents. The children learn from the onset they have to take responsibility for their own health with us. We try to keep them informed as to why and how long they must use medicine if applicable.
Our Clinic has to negotiate with Doctors/Pharmacists to establish a medical network. In cases of Emergency every Carer on the premices knows exactly what to do and where to go.
We work closely with Schoolsisters/Teachers/Doctors to help identify learning problems and help the child to reach his full academic potential. The children are evaluated on a regular basis to see if medicine is nesseccary and/or is the medicine is effective.
We need donations of medicine, money and health-resources to be able to see to the children’s health needs.
